STEM Scholarship Award Luncheon

Rear Adm. Ronald Fritzemeier is a native of Camino, California and received a direct commission as an ensign in the United States Navy Reserve in December 1985.  He successfully completed engineering duty officer qualifications while assigned to the Albuquerque-based Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard reserve unit. Fritzemeier holds a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, minoring in Mathematics, from California State University, Fresno.

Fritzemeier currently serves as the chief engineer for the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), leading Navy efforts in cybersecurity, information architectures, and digital engineering.  He is an Information Warfare qualified engineering duty officer.  Previous key assignments include: Naval Sea Systems Command chief of cybersecurity; commanding officer, SPAWAR Charleston reserve unit; commanding officer, Naval Research Laboratory Space Engineering reserve unit; and special advisor to Commander, U.S. Fleet Cyber Command.

Fritzemeier is a Navy reserve officer currently on active duty.  As a federal senior executive he has led both technology development and operational programs covering the globe in support of national security.  During the last two administrations he served on the President’s Cyber Interagency Policy Committee.

Personal decorations include the Navy Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal and Navy Achievement Medal.
