Buck Bragunier Leadership Award, Pat Kelly, and Jim Loiselle Impact Service Award Scholarships
Completed application packets must be received online via email sent to Gloria McKearney, Scholarship Chair, at gloria.mckearney2@gmail.com by June 2, 2026. Applications received after that date will not be considered. Applicants are responsible for the completeness and timeliness of their submissions. Selections and notifications will be made by July 15, 2026. Checks will be distributed at an Awards Reception on August 11, 2026.
2024-25 Buck Bragunier Leadership Award
The San Diego County Buck Bragunier Leadership Scholarship was established to honor Buck’s memory and unique contributions to the San Diego Chapter of AFCEA. Buck devoted over 20 years to AFCEA and the San Diego military community.
The winners of the Buck Bragunier 2024-25 Leadership Scholarship are:
- Sophia Tang from Del Norte High School. Sophia will major in Environmental Engineering at Columbia University.
- Logan Brown from High Tech High, San Marcos. Logan will major in Electrical Engineering at CalTech.
2024-25 Pat Kelly Impact Service Award
The Pat Kelly Impact Service Scholarship is a one-time scholarship of $2,000 awarded to a graduating high school student who has had the greatest impact in the community through volunteer work.The winner of the Pat Kelly Impact Service Scholarship is:
- Jonah DePaz from University City High School. Jonah will major in Computer Science at CalPoly, San Luis Obispo
2024-25 Jim Loiselle Impact Service Award
The Jim Loiselle Impact Service Scholarship is a one-time scholarship of $2,000 awarded to a graduating high school student who has had the greatest impact in the school and community through volunteer work.
The winner of the Jim Loiselle Impact Service Scholarship is:
- Ramy Jaibaji from St. Augustine High School. Ramy will major in Chemistry at UC Irvine.
